Lieuten Green Movement was established in 2013

Our tree planting projects have spun a period of over 7 years now and still going strong. Some of the projects were personal initiatives while others we partnered with others to give a hand. These were either clubs or groups that current members belonged to. Here is a sneak preview of the different projects we have undertaken in different parts.

Members of Lieuten Green Movement, Location Aberdares

Lieuten Green Movement in conjunction with Kenyatta University Students planted 1000 trees in Kiruri Primary School and donated 1000 fruit trees to the community and pupils. The two groups also did a community town clean up of kanyenyaini Town.

Aberdare tree planting 1st April 2017 planted 3000 trees and donated 1500 hass ovacado trees to the community - Lieuten Green Members in conjunction with Kiruri Boys High School, Members of Karura Rotaract and well wishers planted 3000 indigenous trees in aberdares.

Aberdare tree planting 8th June 2019 planted 2500 trees - Lieuten Green Movement in conjunction with Rotaract Karura, Kangema University Students Association, Bluelight Hub and well wishers planted 2500 indigenous trees.

City Park Tree Restoration 25th March 2017 planted 2000 trees - The Green Walk Movement together with Lieuten Green Movement, friends and well wishers planted 2000 indigenous trees at city park in a move dumbed as 'Restore City Park'.

Kiruri Secondary school 7th July 2016 planted 1500 trees - Lieuten Green Movement, Kiruri students, friends and well wishers planted 1500 trees in the school compound and donated 2000 trees to the school and the community

 Highway Classic Lodge 12th Aug 2017 planted 200 trees - Lieuten Green Movement Members Planted some 200 indigenous and ornamental trees together with friends and well wishers. The group also donated 1500 fruit trees to the community

 Rehoboth Children's Home - Lieuten Green Movement Members Planted some 200 indigenous and ornamental trees together with friends and well wishers. The group also donated 500 fruit trees to the community

On May 21st 2021, Lieuten Green Movement joined the DCC Kangema, Water, Irrigation & Sanitation Principal Secretary Joseph Wairagu,The Subcounty Admin, County Forester, Subcounty Forester, Leaders of Akorino Faith, Muguru Ward MCA, Equity Bank Kangema, Kahuti Water Company, TSC Director, and Kazi Mtaani officers in a Tree planting event at Kangema Nature Park. We continued with the 1 million tree challenge at Kangema Muranga. We Planted 5 trees round the park and a total of 5000 seedlings were donated to schools and the community.

On Sat 8th 2021, Lieuten Green Movement together with Kangema Colleges and Universities Association Planted 10 trees and donated 1000 hass avocado trees to the community

On April 9th 2021, Lieuten Green Movement joined the DCC Kangema, The Subcounty Admin, County Forester, Subcounty Forester, Leaders of Akorino Faith, Muguru Ward MCA, Equity Bank Kangema, Kahuti Water Company, TSC Director, and Kazi Mtaani officers in a Tree planting event at Kangema Nature Park. The event brought on board key stakeholders who desire to see a bigger tree cover in our Sub County and Kenya at large. We continued with the 1 million tree challenge at Kangema Muranga. We Planted 10 trees round the park and a total of 7000 seedlings were donated and planted at different schools around kangema.
